Black Tea from Wuyishan, Fujian Province

This Da Hong Pao comes from the core production area of Wuyi Mountain. Crafted through traditional roasting, it delivers a rich, layered flavor with notes of roasted stone fruit and a distinctive mineral finish that lingers on the palate.

The dark, tightly rolled leaves yield a deep amber liquor that is bold yet smooth. Multiple steepings reveal evolving complexity, making this tea a rewarding choice for those who appreciate authentic Wuyi rock teas.

The liquor is thick and silken, coating the tongue with layers of flavor that evolve with each sip. A rich, fruit-driven sweetness carries through to a finish that is breathtaking — long, warming, and impossibly refined. This is the taste of Wuyi, in its most complete expression.
Tea Liquor: Rich amber, warm and luminous.
How Is it made
Harvesting: Hand-picked in spring from tea gardens in Matouyan, selecting only the finest leaves at peak maturity.
Withering: Spread under the sun to gently reduce moisture and begin flavor development.
Shaking / Cooling (Yaoqing): Tossed and rested in cycles — the rhythmic process that builds the tea‘s legendary layered character.
Pan-Firing (Shāqīng): Oxidation is halted at the optimal moment to preserve the tea’s fruit-forward profile.
Rolling (Róuniǎn): Rolled into tight, twisted strips to release natural juices and concentrate flavor.
Double-Roasting (Bèihuǒ): Roasted twice at 120-130°C, totaling 12 hours — the signature process that builds the tea‘s legendary depth and complexity.
Purpose: Removes excess moisture, stabilizes the tea for long-term storage, brings forward the fruit-driven sweetness and layered complexity through high-temperature heat transformation, and deepens the tea’s legendary smooth, full-bodied character through the long roasting process.
